The following resources may be helpful as you learn more about ADHD and research diagnosis and treatment options.
Lexington SEPAC/SEPTA: Lexington's SEPAC (Special Education Parent Advisory Council) and SEPTA (Special Education Parent Teacher Association) provide our community with information related to special education and to work with Lexington’s Special Education Department to ensure ALL children have equal access to educational opportunities in a safe, nurturing, and academically appropriate learning environment. The SEPAC/SEPTA hold meetings and events throughout the school year to help educate parents about special education topics.
Interface: The Interface Referral Service is a referral service, free to parents and students of Lexington Public Schools. In addition to the resources on their web site, the William James INTERFACE Referral Service maintains a mental health and wellness referral Helpline Monday through Friday, 9 am-5 pm, at 888-244-6843 (toll-free). This is a free, confidential referral service for individuals across the lifespan living in participating communities including Lexington. Callers are matched with licensed mental health providers from the extensive database.
CHADD: Children & Adults with Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (CHADD) is an organization that seeks to improve the lives of people with ADHD by providing resources, support, and educational materials.
Understood: A Web site that seeks to help the millions of parents whose children, ages 3–20, are struggling with learning and attention issues.
Additude: Online magazine that offers resources for families and adults living with ADHD and related conditions and the professionals who work with them.
